who will counsel the counsellor

You opened up to me the other day,
now I cant get rid of it
your feelings stuck to me like a leech,
and they wont go away.

Like disease, on me it grows,
so what was yours, now is mine.
I may not think your thoughts,
But now, I'm crying your tears.

This empathy, it's killing me
When I hear you cry, I cry
When I see you sad, it plagues my mind.
If I can't protect you,
I'm gonna regret you,
Until the day I

die.

Burdens, Burdens I'd like to burn them,
but setting fire to fire only makes it grow.
I could put out the flames if I gave you the cold shoulder.
but I'm not prepared to say no and so

This empathy, it's killing me
When I hear you cry, I cry
When I see you sad, it plagues my mind.
If I can't protect you,
I'm gonna regret you,
Until the day I -

Ill fill my heart up with all of your heartache.
I'll make room for your problems and push out all my own.
I'll pick up all the pieces when your world starts to shatter.
I'll absorb all the hurt so that you can let go.

This empathy, it's killing me
When I hear you cry, I cry
When I see you sad, it plagues my mind.
If I can't protect you,
I'm gonna regret you,
Until the day I

Die.
