Between You and Me

I want to hold you,
but I don't know about forever..
Maybe, if neither of us felt,
Then maybe we would both feel better.
We've managed to freeze time,
but we're not getting any younger.
We just can't move into the future until we figure out each other.

So we're talking around in circles (but neither of us walking).
Saying so many different words,
They seem to all have the same meaning.
But we'll talk until we both agree we've found our revelation.
We don't know if it exists,
but we'll keep looking,
Because there's something between us.

Between you and me.

Sometimes I don't want to be yours,
I just always want you to be mine,
But the love needs to be balanced,
So we're sitting still in time until it is,
and if it isn't, then at least we know we've tried.
Oh maybe we just cannot love,
Despite that deep down inside,
There's something between us.

Between you and me.

Oh my heart is strong,
but my head thinks its wrong.
We're two different puzzle pieces,
Neither one of us belongs.
But neither one of us will quit,
Because we want this to be it,

I Couldn't Keep You (even if I wanted to)

I hate to break this to you,
But I have to break this off.
I don't want to, But I need to,
Before my heart becomes too soft.
I'm paper in water.
and you tear me up.

It's been lovely at times,
But it's been lonely at times.
When you've decided you're right,
and You won't comprimise.
It's always me having to swallow my pride,
And it's killing me inside.

So go, Please go.
Pretend you don't know me,
because truth be told, I don't think you do.

even if I wanted to.

So Please get down from that pedestal I built you,
and let me see you in natural light,
because the less perfect you seem,
the easier it'll be
to break my own heart,
before you get a chance.
