It started off sweet,
you liked me and I liked you
but, Somewhere along the way,
you decided to discontinue what you felt-
if you felt anything for me
and you shut me out but, I clung on as desperate as can be.

Because, It was your hand that I desired,
but you said friendship was all you required,
and I can settle for friends if thats what you want us to be
but I've gotta say,
I've gotta tell you;
I liked you better when you liked me.

I tried, I tried so hard,
to make myself more appealing,
but somewhere along the way
you decided that you weren't feeling anything-

I can tell myself I'm over you,
if that is what you want me to do,
